I love Quick Lit time. I can brag to you about all of the books that I read (LOL); four books this month and am currently six books ahead of schedule to read 36 books this year. However, when I tell you my life is hectic this week, I am not lying in any way so just the books and some favorite quotes this month. I may expound on some of these at a later date.

Stopped Abandoned Reading:
I have changed the title from stopped to abandoned because it is more in line with the wording for MMD’s Reading Challenge.

I just finished The Book Thief this month after previously abandoning it (almost a year ago). It is a hard book to read & really takes awhile to pick up in pace too, I found. I had it on audiobook from the library this month, and I really enjoyed that format. The narrator was also fantastic. I’m only sharing this in case you ever wanted to give it another go – I know audiobooks aren’t for everyone but I have really started to embrace them so that I can listen while doing housework, commuting or exercising 🙂 I haven’t seen the movie yet though! I love Emily’s P. Freeman’s website so I really want to read her books someday 🙂
Thanks for the idea of the audio book for The Book Thief. I may have to try that. Yes, do pick up one of Emily’s books. If you are artistic, I would start with A Million Little Ways. Let me know what you think.
Mr. Penumbra is on my to-read list! And I loved Simply Tuesday, so I’ll have to check out this other one by Emily. My goal this year is 36 books too! 🙂

why did you abandon The Bookseller and The Book Thief? I actually saw the movie for The Book Thief first and I think it really helped me stay the course in the book.
Well, I haven’t seen the movie so, no help there. Lol! Honestly for The Bookseller, it was progressing too slowly for me and I had other books I was interested in. The library loan expired and I found I wasn’t interested anymore. The Book Thief was a eBook and it expired as well. It’s hard for me to read eBooks, I have discovered-prefer turning actual pages.

I hope so. There is nothing like the smell of a good book and feeling the quality of a cover and the texture of the paper. Love it. Thanks for reading.
People are even making their own journals now with a real leather cover, talk about the smell…! and feel…and using the light weight card stock for paper….

I don’t blame you for abandoning The Book Thief. It was a great story but it dragged on 100 pages too long, in my opinion, and it was so sad. I thought the movie was actually better than the book, which is rare. Have you watched the movie?
No, I haven’t. My movie watching is generally pure escapism; very rarely do I watch historically accurate movies. I might watch this one though. Thanks for commenting.
I have heard that; just read that James Patterson’s starting a new imprint of books <150 pages, designed to be read in one sitting;
having said that, Shannan, I wondered where you got the term "abandoned" books, since I'd just downloaded and printed Modern Mrs. Darcy's book journal, with a page for those in it; anybody else use hers?
