what i’m into – keeping me sane {may 2019}

If you have a monthly recap post, telling everyone what you’re into, please share it in the comments below and let your community know that you are doing so.  We do this every month, next on Monday, July 1.

After the excitement of April, I was looking forward to relative peace and quiet in May and I intentionally built it into my month. I kept my appointments to a minimum, although the ones I did have included two annual wellness appointments.  Aren’t those fun?

I did a lot of reading. In fact, work required me to read an entire book from start to finish in one day.  I LOVE my job! I believe I have read more books this month than I have any other this year and that makes me so happy.  My Quick Lit post will drop on the 15th and I will give you a recap of everything then.

I listened to a lot of podcast.  I am really loving the Before Breakfast podcast by my girl, Laura Vanderkam.  No, she doesn’t know me from Adam, well I hope she would know me from Adam. But her books and now her podcast, help me create the life I want to live and so she’s my girl, Laura. Before Breakfast is short, less than 10 minutes and gives you a tip of the day to make your day better. I often listen while exercising in the morning.

I exercised pretty consistently through the month of May. That got the dopamine flowing and contributed to the overall good feeling throughout the month.

My family went bowling a couple of times this month. Who knew the Buddy Man loves to bowl? He’s quite good for his age.  And it always makes me feel good to see him having a blast.

I continued working toward my goal to create that feeling of “home” in my house via konmari. I have gone through a number of the komono categories but want to get through most before putting up a post. My parents were also kind enough to come through this month and they helped with some things I had not yet gotten around to including:  hanging a picture in the laundry – it looks so nice in there now; hanging a new light fixture; etc. It’s awesome to have those “hanging on” tasks done. Those are the ones that are so annoying, aren’t they?

I did a lot of writing. Some of which you will see here in the upcoming weeks.

So, that’s pretty much it.  What were you up to this month?

enjoy life…

    Glad you got in so much reading, Shannan. I’ll look forward to your quick Lit post on the 15th! I’ve been listening to the Before Breakfast podcast too. Laura’s book “Off the Clock” was amazing; I just finished a few weeks of time tracking and was quite shocked (not in a good way) at my results. ha. I’m reading her “168 Hours” now.

    My wrap-up post is here:

    My end-of-May post is here: https://barbarah.wordpress.com/2019/05/30/end-of-may-musings/. I agree, it sure doesn’t feel like it should be June already!

    This is the first house where we have a decent laundry area, and I put some pictures up in there, too — a cross-stitch picture my sister did, a calendar page I tore off and framed, and a couple of others on sale at Hobby Lobby and elsewhere. We send so much time in there, it’s nice to have it pleasant.

    Kudos for consistent exercising! We just got a used exercise bike several weeks ago, and it has helped me be more consistent.

what do you think?
